Nintendo has joined PlayStation and Xbox in releasing its own Year in Review for 2023, which is now accessible online. It started by revealing that the first game I played in 2023 was Pokémon Legends Arceus. It then summarizes the total games played and the total hours spent playing.
I was a bit surprised to see my total gaming hours on Nintendo were double those on PlayStation and Xbox, at 235 total hours. But then Nintendo reminded me on the next slide that I spent 100 hours in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (review), my favorite game of 2023. I also spent 45 hours revisiting Xenoblade Chronicles 3, one of my favorite games of all time when the Future Redeemed DLC (review) released. My third-most played Nintendo game was Pikmin 4 (review) at 34 hours.
The following slide summarizes your gaming trends, breaking down in percentages which genres you spent the most time playing in 2023. The Year in Review then reminds you what month you spent the most hours playing, and I suspect for many, it will be May—when Tears of the Kingdom was released. Nintendo then asks you to choose your favorite game of 2023 before giving you the option to download your stats from the Year in Review.
