Square Enix and Xbox seem to be strengthening their renewed relationship, following the announcement that Final Fantasy XIV was finally heading to Xbox. Square Enix and Xbox have announced today that Octopath Traveler II is heading to Xbox consoles and also Windows PC, though it is already available on Steam. We believe the press release means specifically the Windows/Xbox Store.
Launched in February earlier this year, Octopath Traveler II comes from the same team behind the original and has sold over four million units worldwide as of June 2023. Featuring a striking blend of retro 2D characters in a beautiful 3D world, for some, Octopath Traveler II has silently emerged as a Game of the Year contender.
No exact release date was announced, just that it would be available on Xbox in early 2024. Octopath Traveler II is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC via Steam.
