There will not be a last-minute delay for Starfield, as it will hit its originally announced release date on time. Bethesda has confirmed Starfield has gone gold and preloads will begin as soon as tomorrow for Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC. Those who plan on getting Starfield on Steam will have to wait until August 30 to begin preloading. The game officially launches on September 6, although players can get a five-day early head start if they purchase one of the more expensive versions of the game.
For those who don’t know what it means when a game has gone gold, it means there’s a shippable version of the game that can be printed on discs and sent off to retailers. There have been very rare cases that a game has gone gold and the release date was delayed afterwards, but we doubt that will be the case with Starfield.
Starfield is console-exclusive to Xbox, and hopefully it lives up to expectations. Bethesda’s last single-player game was Fallout 4 and that released nearly eight years ago, believe it or not.
