October is shaping up to be another packed month of releases for 2023, and one of those games is Lords of the Fallen. Earlier today, developer Hexworks and publisher GI Games have shared an extensive gameplay video that is nearly 18 minutes long. It’s a very detailed look at the dark fantasy world and action RPG combat in Lords of the Fallen, as we get a glimpse at Axiom, the living realm, and Umbral, the realm of the dead. For those who are craving a new Soulslike experience, Lords of the Fallen may fit the bill.

“The team at Hexworks is thrilled to finally share an extended gameplay presentation and reveal numerous new details of our dark fantasy action RPG,” said Saul Gascon, head of studio, in a press release. “We have passionately carved our own path in this increasingly popular genre, and we are particularly excited to see how players will approach the game’s unique dual-world mechanic when it releases this October.”

The extended gameplay presentation also reveals how co-op gameplay will work in Lords of the Fallen. Publisher CI Games said that players will only need to visit a vestige (rest spot) and select a friend to play with. Players will also have the ability to join a random player who is seeking a companion for co-op.

Lords of the Fallen is set to release October 13 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. We expect a lot more news and video to release in the coming weeks, but the game is looking like one to keep an eye on.
