The video game industry has been taking a beating this year, with a record number of layoffs and some studios shuttering their doors—some through no fault of their own. Baldur’s Gate 3 (review) developer Larian Studios, however, has expanded, opening its seventh studio in Warsaw, Poland. The company has been an independent studio since 1996 and recently confirmed it would not be making any expansions to its award-winning Baldur’s Gate 3, nor will it develop Baldur’s Gate 4. Instead, Larian Studios has decided to develop its own IPs and is currently working on two new projects.

With the new studio, Larian Studios is also hiring for several open full-time positions in Warsaw, Poland. “Like its sister studios across the globe, Larian Studios Warsaw is dedicated to fostering an environment where developers can thrive creatively and reclaim their agency,” the website says. “Systems-heavy RPGs need best-in-class developers, that’s why we’ve put the people who build those systems at the center of our culture.” Even more impressively, the company added that if you don’t see a role that fits you, it is taking open applications so you can convince them to hire you.

Larian Studios Warsaw joins a global team of sister studios in Quebec, Dublin, Guildford, Barcelona, Ghent, and Kuala Lumpur.
