The Xbox One release date has finally been unveiled: November 22, 2013. For those that can recall, that’s the exact same date that the Xbox 360 was released in 2005. The Xbox One will release initially in 13 markets worldwide: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK, and the U.S. The company promised that more markets will come in 2014.

That means the Xbox One release date is one week after the Sony PlayStation 4’s release in the U.S., which is set to be November 15, 2013. It will however, be one week earlier than the PlayStation 4’s release in those select European countries. The PlayStation 4 release date in Europe will be November 29, 2013.

Along with the announcement of the Xbox One release date, Microsoft confirmed that the console got a boost in processing power, increasing the CPU’s speed from 1.6 GHz to 1.75 GHz.
