Fans of the Warcraft series could be waiting a very long time for Warcraft IV to make an appearance, if it ever does. Steven Luo decided to take matters into his own hands and created a custom StarCraft II map called WOW RTS: Alliance and Horde, or WAH for short. Continuing on the tradition set in Warcraft III with heroes and creeps, the custom map is more than just a custom map, it was completely built as an RTS game using the StarCraft II engine but with all new models, textures and sounds pulled from World of Warcraft.

Players can play as one of two factions, Alliance and Horde, and can choose from 14 buildings, 16 units and 18 heroes. In addition, over 50 creeps have been designed and implemented in the mod, which currently has three melee maps available: Lost Temple (Blood Elf theme), Crossroads (copied from WoW) and Ashenvale (Night Elf theme).

In addition to the many WoW inspired features in the map, the mod also has a completely revamped AI system that makes it more Warcraft than StarCraft – such as peons going in a single file line to harvest gold from a mine.
