Transport Tycoon will be heading to Android and iOS mobile platforms on October 3, 2013 31X and Origin8 Technologies have announced. Transport Tycoon was originally developed by Chris Sawyer and published by MicroProse in 1994 for the PC. The mobile port of the wildly popular game is being designed and directed by Sawyer.

Those hoping the graphics would be improved over the last two decades are out of luck, but one could argue that’s what makes Transport Tycoon what it is. Instead of making fancier graphics, the team focused on creating a new, touch-friendly user interface for the game in order for it to play well on mobile devices.

In transport Tycoon, players build the ultimate transport empire to move goods by land, air and sea. The game starts in 1930 and spawns 100 years of gameplay with over 150 vehicle types and more than 40 scenarios.
