Monster Hunter Frontier G will be heading to the PlayStation Vita, Capcom has announced at the 2013 Tokyo Game Show. Monster Hunter Frontier is a subscription-based, online version of the popular Monster Hunter franchise and was originally released in 2007 for the PC in Japan. Three years later, Capcom ported the game to the Xbox 360 and earlier this year, the company announced that Monster Hunter Frontier G would be heading to the Wii U and PlayStation 3.

Now you can add the PlayStation Vita to the list of compatible consoles, and while Vita players won’t be able to access every world of Monster Hunter Frontier G, several PlayStation 3 worlds will be open to them. There will also be a data transfer feature available between the PlayStation 3 and Vita – similar to what Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate offers for the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS.

Keep in mind that Monster Hunter Frontier G is exclusive to Japan and will likely remain so since it’s an online-based game. It’s not very likely that a Monster Hunter MMO would do that well in North America, even though fans would love it.
