As promised, Nintendo revealed new characters joining the Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS rosters today. Lucina and Robin from Fire Emblem: Awakening along with veteran Captain Falcon from the F-Zero series have been officially announced extending the upcoming game’s roster to 36 fighters.
Lucina was first introduced in Fire Emblem: Awakening, which was released on the 3DS on February 4, 2013. As for Robin, he or she is a named variant of the character players create at the start of the game. Both male and female versions of Robin will be playable in Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS.
Also teased in the video is Chrom, but he will not be a playable fighter in the upcoming game. A post on Miiverse by Masahiro Sakurai also revealed that Ubisoft has created a special 3D model of Rayman, rendered specifically to be used as a trophy in the upcoming game.
