The gaming community has collectively exhaled as Team Cherry confirmed a special announcement for Hollow Knight: Silksong on August 21 at 7:30 AM Pacific (10:30 AM Eastern). While this shouldn’t come as a surprise, given Xbox confirmed a new demo would be playable at Gamescom 2025, fans have become so traumatized by the lack of news that we probably won’t believe an announcement is coming until the YouTube video actually plays.
Originally announced in 2019 as the sequel to 2017’s Hollow Knight, Hollow Knight: Silksong is one of the internet’s most highly anticipated games. The only confirmed detail we have is that the game is scheduled to launch sometime this year. Hopefully the wait is finally over, and the upcoming special announcement is a release date.
