The rumors have been confirmed: Telltale Games is officially working on a Game of Thrones game. The world premiere trailer for Game of Thrones from Telltale Games was shown off at this year’s VGX event. The game is due sometime next year and will be based on the HBO television series inspired by George R.R. Martin’s popular novels.

Unfortunately, details on the Game of Thrones game are light, as it appears that Telltale Games is still in the early stages of development. According to Dan Connors, CEO of Telltale Games, the team will “take advantage of all the fiction to make something great.” He elaborated by saying that Telltale Games is “just really getting into it right now,” and they’re still thinking about the characters that will be featured.

Telltale Games is the creator of the popular The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us. No platforms for Game of Thrones were announced, but it’s probably a safe bet that Telltale Games will develop it for all the same platforms its current titles are available on: Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, mobile, PC and Mac.
