Final Fantasy Type-0 and Final Fantasy Agito could still be localized for the European and North American markets, according to Hajima Tabata of Square Enix. In an interview with US Gamer, Tabata revealed a ton of details about Final Fantasy Type-0 and the upcoming mobile Final Fantasy Agito, that was recently announced.

While the interview is definitely worth a read if you’re a Final Fantasy fan in North America or Europe, the most interesting part to it is the fact that Square Enix is still considering localizing Final Fantasy Type-0 and hopefully Final Fantasy Agito. According to Tabata, localization for Final Fantasy Type-0 had begun previously, but due to the weak market of the PlayStation Portable (PSP), the company shelved it to see if it would turn the corner.

Since we all know how that went, Square Enix then considered the PlayStation Vita and even a PlayStation 3 HD port. But after looking into a PS3 HD port, the team concluded that it would be too much work. So where does that leave European and North American gamers? Well, there’s still a bit of hope. Tabata revealed that the localization of the games are “in the final stages of consideration,” and that nothing is absolutely concrete, though it’s the direction that the company wants to go.

Hopefully Sony’s recent push for the PlayStation Vita and the release of the PS Vita TV will help push Square Enix towards the right decision of bringing those titles to North America and Europe. It’s the least they can do after giving us a pair of sequels for Final Fantasy XIII.
