The PlayStation 4 exclusive titleDeep Down will be a free-to-play game, its developer Capcom has announced. A tweet by Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Worldwide Studios president, also revealed that Deep Down will enter open beta around the same time as the PlayStation 4 launch in Japan – which means February of next year.
Deep Down is an online RPG for the PlayStation 4 and is built on Capcom’s new Panta Rhei engine. Set in the year 2094 in New York, Deep Down is a dungeon crawler with an extremely dark atmosphere. Players will be able to take on the automatically generated dungeons with up to three friends in co-op. Unfortunately there has been no confirmation that Deep Down will be released in North America yet.
