Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will be heading to the Nintendo 2DS / 3DS and the Sony PlayStation Vita on October 25, 2013, bringing The Caped Crusader to handheld consoles. Developed by Armature Studio, the title will be a 2D action game with 3D art and is part of the Batman: Arkham Origins series.
The story will take place after the events of Arkham Origins and follows a prison uprising at Blackgate. Batman heads out to investigate Blackgate and realizes that there’s more going on than just a standard prison riot. Joining Batman in Arkham Origins Blackgate will be Catwoman, Bronze Tiger, Joker, the Penguin, Black Mask, and Solomon Gundy. A relationship will also be forged with a young Captain Gordon.
According to Armature Studio, the free-flow combat system has been rebuilt from the ground up for the handheld consoles. Batman will be able to move left to right, along with the ability to be in the foreground or background.
